After Jarhoo start to charge, I had try to find some alternative service which is free. Althogh I dont found any JAR file search engine, I discover another search engine: Docjar.com
Docjar.com is a search engine to search for javadoc by class name. It hav provide a Eclipse plugin which look cool (I not yet test it out). Another feature they provide is the stack trace search engine. Not a cutting edge technology but really impressive.
Just give it a try, you will like it.

Hi! I recently found a free alternative to jarhoo. It is called merobase and seems to be a code search engine. Although it is somewhat hidden you can access the jarhoo functionality by entering something like:
findjar:org.apache.lucene.search.Query
